Inspiration in Red and Brown

The decision to be creative starts from one small spark of inspiration, and that's exactly what happened when Joey and I were shopping one day.  We had talked about the color scheme we wanted to use in our living room when we found a place to live.  As we were walking around Cost Plus World Market, we came across this serving tray with a red and brown pattern.  I loved it so much, and it gave me the answer of which color scheme to use in the living room.... red and brown : )

As time went by, I found decorations that would match the red and brown color scheme of our living room.

While I was visiting my family in Louisiana, mom and I went shopping at Kirkland's.  I found this set of three candle holders that matched a set like mom has in her living room.  I bought the candles later at Walmart here in Boise.

I also found these balls at Kirkland's.  I really liked the fleur de lis design on them because it would add a touch of Louisiana to our house : ) I bought the basket later at Target here in Boise.

Back in Boise, I found a few more decorations I liked to add to the red and brown scheme of the living room.

At T.J. Maxx, I found this red pillow with gold stitched flowers.  I really liked the color of it because it matched the curtains that we chose.

At Micheal's, I found this glass vase, glass pebbles, red flowers, red candles, and glass candle holders.  I was actually going to Micheal's with finding something like this in mind because I had a small table that needed an extra touch of color.

Then the wedding came along, and we received some great gifts.  Two of my favorites were a fleur de lis and a Bless Our Home sign.  I knew that they would both look great in the room : )

In one of my next post, I will post pictures of how I used all of the previous decorations in our red and brown inspired living room : )

Until then...Have a great day!
